Morris Central School has an opening for a
Head Bus Driver starting on or about 3/24/2025. The person will schedule bus runs and school/sports trips. They submit payroll for the Transportation Department to the District Office. The person is responsible for ensuring all drivers are up-to-date with all New York State
requirements. The person must have a CDL
License with the clearance to drive school buses.
We are seeking a responsible and experienced Head Bus Driver to oversee daily transportation operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable service. This role involves supervising drivers, scheduling routes, maintaining compliance with safety regulations, and addressing operational concerns. The Head Bus Driver will conduct vehicle inspections, coordinate repairs, and train staff on safety protocols and customer service.
Key responsibilities include monitoring fuel usage, maintaining records, handling driver concerns, and assisting with hiring and evaluations. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, as well as a commitment to passenger safety and service excellence.
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with passenger and air brake endorsements
Proven experience as a bus driver, with supervisory or leadership experience preferred
Knowledge of transportation regulations and fleet maintenance
Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies
