Proksch Transit is a family run United States Postal Service (USPS) contractor moving mail between USPS distribution centers and local post offices in Minnesota and Wisconsin. All of our routes are local, home-at-night routes. Routes in Wisconsin are split shift and deliver to various towns including Millston, Norwalk, Seneca, Taylor, Arcadia, Alma, Ft. McCoy, and Tomah.
We are currently hiring for the following Substitute & Part Time Positions in La Crosse WI

- Substitute, On Call, and Part Time Route Drivers
Substitute & On Call La Crosse, WI Route Drivers
- Routes depart from the Rochester, MN main postal distribution facility and delivers to the Winona, Rose Creek, Ostrander, Hokah, Mabel and Rushford, MN area Post Offices.
- Routes depart from the La Crosse, WI main postal distribution facility and deliver to the Millston, Norwalk, Seneca, Taylor, Arcadia, Alma, Ft. McCoy, and Tomah, WI area Post Offices.
- Split shift schedule. Routes start in Rochester around 4:30 am and end in various layover towns around 7:40 am, then start again around noon or 2 pm ending in Rochester around 5 pm. Routes start in La Crosse around 4 am and end in layover towns by 7:45 am, then start again around noon and end by 3pm in La Crosse.
- Home nightly.
- Early advance also available, Monday’s only 2-5 a.m. and 12-4 a.m.
- Monday through Saturday work week. Days and hours vary. Substitute drivers cover time off and days off for the regular route drivers.
- Competitive pay starting at $23-25/hour, increasing with experience and employee longevity.
Job Requirements for all drivers:
– Valid U.S. driver’s license (CDL or non-CDL)
– Ability to pass a DOT medical card physical and drug test
– Ability to pass a federal background check for access to US Mail and have Authorization to work in the US
– Ability to lift 75 lbs (occasionally)
– Driver will operate Proksch Transit owned equipment- box trucks.
– Driver must maintain schedule and arrive on time daily.
– Driver must inspect the truck before, during, and after the trips. Notify company mechanic of any problems.
– Complete job daily within guidelines of company procedures and policies, as well as federal and state regulations of operating motor vehicles.
